Surrender…

Art. Why art? The answer to that question seems to be simple: To tap into the state we call flow.

State coming from within, yet at the same time – everywhere. Sometimes wild and sometimes soft, but always free, and always present. Constant. Flowing within us and around us.

When I paint my flow leads me towards my soul, so what becomes a mark on the paper, is a reflection of my soul at a specific time here on Earth. Often times you can see I paint women connected with lunar cycles and natural ecosystems – stars, universe, sea, animals, plants. Women in alignment. I guess that’s what my subconscious always strives to be – in alignment with what feels right. What feels like truth.

So when I loose my mind, my ego, when I allow art to happen without control, when I am able to let go of perfectionism, of attachment, of idea of how things should turn out, when I do not restrict myself with mind made limits, when i let the flow flow – that’s when I know I surrendered.

I surrender to the unknown territory and in that unknown space, I am at home and I create.
